Gingerbean L.L.C-FZ, trading as Ginger Bean ("Ginger Bean", "we", "us"), is an innovation, digital solutions and AI services company registered in Meydan Free Zone, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (licence no. 2651648.01). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and the choices you have when you visit gingerbean.ae (the "Website") or use our Pick Ur Boozer mobile application (the "App").
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you contact us through the Website, join a waitlist or create an account in the App, we may collect your name, email address, and the content of your message or profile. If you sign in using a third-party account (such as Apple), we receive the basic profile details that service shares with us.
Information collected automatically. Basic technical data such as device type, operating system and app version, approximate location derived from your IP address, crash reports and usage analytics that help us keep the App working well. The crash-reporting and analytics tools we use receive technical and usage data only.
Location. If you allow it, the App uses your device's location to show venues near you. You can withdraw this permission at any time in your device settings.
Content you share in the App. For example venues you save, "I'm going" signals, and any details you choose to add to your profile.
2. How we use it
We use personal information to provide and improve the Website and the App; to respond to your enquiries; to run account features such as saved venues and going-tonight signals; to keep our services secure and prevent abuse; to understand how the App is used so we can make it better; and to send service messages. We send marketing only where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We process personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and, where it applies, the EU and UK GDPR. We rely on your consent, the performance of our agreement with you, and our legitimate interests in running and improving our services.
3. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the Website and App under contracts that protect your data — for example Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Supabase (app backend and authentication) and Apple (app distribution and maps); where the law requires it; or as part of a business transfer, in which case this policy continues to apply.
4. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Website enquiries are kept for up to 12 months. App account data is kept while your account is active and deleted or anonymised within 30 days of you deleting your account, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
5. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@gingerbean.ae.
You can delete your App account and its data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account in the App, or by emailing us from the address on your account.
6. Children
The Website and the App are not intended for anyone under 18, and the App is intended only for adults of legal drinking age in their country (21 in the UAE). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security and international transfers
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls and reputable cloud providers. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our service providers may process data outside the UAE, for example in the EU or the US. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected to a standard consistent with this policy and applicable law.
8. Cookies
The Website uses only the cookies and local storage strictly necessary for it to work. The App may use similar technologies to remember your preferences.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will publish the new version here with an updated date and, for significant changes, let you know in the App or by email.
